Darius scott - Private |
Darius Scott was born in Hilgay, Parish Norfolk England in October, 1841. He migrated to Wood County, Ohio with his father in the early 1850s. Enlisted in the 21st Ohio Co. K on Aug. 21, 1861 at Findlay, Ohio. The 21st Ohio regiment fought many battles in Tennessee. Darius was captured at the battle of Chickamauga, Georgia in Sept. 20, 1863. He was sent to a Rebel prison camp in Danville, Va. where he died on Feb. 1, 1864. Darius is buried in the Federal Military Cemetery at Danville, Va. He wrote several letters home which are in his files.
