Henry Plessner
Henry Plessner - Major |
|
Henry Plessner actually entered the service on 4 September, 1864 as a Captain and was promoted to Major on 7 December, 1864. There are actually a few conflicting documents (all of this is officially documented, not word of mouth or family records). One gives his enlistment as happening 2 Jun 1863 into the same unit. He entered into Company E but later moved to Field and Staff.
The two conflicting reports are from the Civil War Pension Index, both from 1873 and must reflect a mistake done by the record-maker.
