William J. Neff - Private   
Private William J. Neff heard the call of President Lincoln and enlisted on September 5, 1862 at the age of 25. Mostly saw action in South Carolina, including the siege of Ft. Wagner. Died of disease on September 16, 1863 at Folly Island, SC, and is buried at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC. Left behind a widow named Alma. He served his country with honor.
