Samuel C. Wheeler - Unknown   
A union soldier in the Civil War, Samuel Wheeler was enlisted in the 3rd Regiment,New York Light Artillery, Company B on February 22, 1864 in Auburn, New York and was mustered out of Syracuse on July 13, 1865. He was discharged due to injuries sustained at Honey Hill in the Civil War and was hospitalized on 1-June-1865 in Charleston, South Carolina and later transferred to Hilton Head, SC before returning home to New York. During the battle, his left leg was crushed by a horse.

Jay Wicks - Captain   
Jay was one of three brothers that enlisted in the war. Jay entered as a LT and was promoted to Captain. He was mortally wounded on the Darbytown Road outside of Richmond on October 24, 1864. He died a month later is buried in Virginia somewhere.
