Henry Geminden - Private |

Great Grandfather ~ parents came from Bingen Germany and settled on a farm outside Prairie Home MO. He was their firstborn in the US in 1840. I have pages from their copybook telling of his birth. Their name, Von Geminden, was Americanized to Geminden. He was very tall and his height persists in our family to this day. He was transferred to 50th MO infantry when the 45th mustered out. He discharged from there on July 3rd, 1865. I have his uniform buttons.
