Benjamin was a brother of my ancestor, Sylvester Fredenburg, who served with the New York 33rd Infantry, Co. I, and the New York 50th Engineers, Co. L. Benjamin was captured by the Confederacy and died in the infamous Andersonville Prison in Americus, Georgia, c. 1864.
