11th Kentucky Cavalry

Ezekial Walcott was born near Monticello, Wayne County, Kentucky. He enlisted in the 11th Ky. Cav. in 1861. Confederate records state that he died in the war, but further research shows he returned to Wayne County, Kentucky after the war, was married in 1866 and had two children. He is not shown in any records past 1880 which leads me to believe he died sometime near that year. In 1880, his wife was remarried and his children were living in the household of her 2nd husband. Ezekial Walcott is thought to be related to David Walcott, Company D, 16th Tennessee Infantry. They were both from Wayne County, Ky. Burial site of Ezekial Walcott is currently unknown.

Alexander Tribble, b 1836, enlisted in the Army of the Confederate States at Murfreesboro, Tennessee in the fall of 1861 and was elected a Lieutenant in the 2nd Cavalry and fought with that regiment at Glasgow, Snow Hill, Marrowbone, Edgefield, Woodbury, Bradyville, Shiloh, Liberty, Milton, Gallatin, The Christmas Raid. In May, 1863, he was elected Captain of Company B, 11th Kentucky Cavalry, Morgan's Command, Army of Tennessee and fought at Bacon Creek, Nolin's Creek, Muldraugh's Hill, Rolling Fork, Monticello, Columbia, Green River Brige, where he was killed 4 Jul 1863.

Enlisted 10 Sep 1862, following Battle of Richmond. Wartime diary survives; mustered in 2nd Lt., mustered out 2nd Lt. 'Such is life,' he noted. Captured Buffington Island, July 1863; served out the war in POW camps, including Delaware.

Mustered in 10 Sep 1862, following battle of Richmond, KY. Injured at the stockade, Green River Bridge, 4 July 1863. Nursed to health by Union sympathizers (Joel Smith family of Cane Valley). Presumably invalided out.
