I have read in the History of NorthEast Indiana that James Ebbert was born in Stark County, Ohio 5th Sept 1842. He was a farmer until he enlisted in Company B for service during the Civil War as a volunteer. After a long and faithful service he was honourably discharged and returned to Jackson Township, moving in 1891 to La Grange County, Indiana.
I would like to find out more about him and his military service.
