Buried Brick Church Cemetery, Hagarstown, Wayne County, Indiana.

Silas (1838-1920) and brothers John and Charles all originally from Switzerland County, Indiana, served in various Indiana units during the War. Silas served three months from May 27, 1862 with the 54th Indiana Infantry. He re-enlisted two more times in other Indiana units in 1863 and 1865. He migrated with his wife and children to Kansas sometime between 1870 and 1875. He is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, Montgomery County, Kansas.

Daniel had transferred into the 54th Indiana Infantry from the 50th and 52nd Indiana Volunteer Infantry. His relatives also served with the 50th, 52nd, and 140th Indiana Infantry Regiments.
