Participated in Siege of Corinth, was taken prisoner of war by Gen. Forrest at Lexington, TN and interned in Andersonville Prison Camp.

1864 re-enlistment papers state 'born Vermillion, IN, eyes grey, hair medium, complexion fair, height 5ft 10 in. Farmer.'

Discharged at Indianapolis 11 Sep 1865. Died Jan 1879 in Wabash Co, IN and buried in Center Grove Cem, Wabash Co, IN.
