John Wholstenholm - Private   
John Wholstenholm was mustered in August 10, 1862 in Peoria, Ill. He was 39 when he volunteered and left 5 children under the age of 10 at home. He survived the Vicksburg, Red River, and Mobile campaigns, and was mustered out in July of 1865. He procured land in Nebraska under a soldier's claim, and died there in 1899.
