G-G-Grandfather
John Dixon served with Co. F, 62nd Ill. Vol. Inf. from Dec. 1863 to March 1866. His regiment was assigned to guard duty at Little Rock and Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and later they moved into the Cherokee Nation (Oklahoma). He died in 1901 from pneumonia after having his leg amputated in a work accident. He had previously applied for a Veteran's pension.

George Washington Phillips - Private
George Washington Phillips served with the 62nd Illinois, Infantry, Company G. He was killed during the war by Mr. Vanderpool. Phillips is buried in Little Rock National Cemetery, Sec. 3, Grave 2821. He was survived by his widow, Matilda, and ten children who lived in Carroll Co., Arkansas.
