Enlisted July 7, 1863 at Carnesville, Ga for a period of six months. Captain Skelton's Company. Raised for local defense, to serve within the 6th and 9th Congessional Districts of Georgia. Company ordered into active service and pay commenced Sept 19, 1863, to Jan 31, 1864. By order of Maj. Gen'l Howell Cobb this company was mustered out of service Feb 17, 1864, expiration of service.
He would later join Co. D 11th Georgia Cavalry and would die of fever in the military prison Camp Chase in Ohio.

Died 1890,(Date unknown), La Veta, Huerfano County Colorado.
