The 3rd Georgia Reserve Regiment was formed in April, 1864. They were guards at Andersonville Prison until August, 1864 when sent to Macon to help defend the city during Stoneman's raid. They fought at the Battle of Columbus on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1865.

Was also at Camp Anderson and Camp Sumpter in Macon County GA (Andersonville). Was stationed also at Camp Lawton in Jenkins County, GA near Millen. He received a
slight wound in right hip on December 9th 1864 at battle near Coosawatchie Station, SC. (Corporal)
