Veteran Volunteer Corp. and was wounded in the left arm in the Battle of the Wilderness. Returned to service, promoted to sergeant and served in the regimental color guard. Jonathon was from a farming family and lived near Hazlettville, Delaware. He entered the service with his brother Thomas. Their names have been spelled Bedwell and Bettle in various records. They are listed on the Delaware monument in Gettysburg. Relationship to me: uncle (gg grandmothers brother)
