Wounded in action 1 June 1864 at Battle of Cold Harbor,Virginia. Died of wounds 3 June 1864. Originally buried at 6 Corps field hospital near J. A underage soldier who enlisted at the age of 15 on 19 March 1862. He was mortally wounded via gunshot on 29 June 1862 at the Battle of Savage's Station and died that day in the field hospital. His brother Cornelius Putnam was in the 8th Vermont Infantry. He was my 1st Cousin 5 times removed.
