Born in Canada in 1840. He moved to Highgate VT and enlisted Dec 22,1863 at the age of 23 in Manchester VT to E Company of the 5th VT infantry. He was mustered in Jan 6,1864, was promoted to corporal Dec 16,1864,and mustered out June 29,1865. After the war he moved to Conway MA where he died in 1899. The surname 'Grennier' was changed sometime after his move to the US to Grennia.
