Thomas Jackson Pelfrey - Sergeant
Served in Companies, D, I, and K.
Pelfrey entered the service as a Private on November 1, 1862, and was mustered in on November 27th of that same year.

He attained the rank of Sergeant during his length of Service.
Thomas was promoted to Sergeant on May 18th, 1863.

Pelfrey served with the unit at Spring Hill, Franklin, and Nashville. He also participated in Sherman's campaign of the Carolinas.

Thomas Pelfrey passed away on April 14, 1912, and was buried in Smyrna Cemetery. He has the second oldest grave (marked) in the cemetery.

While in the service, Thomas Pelfrey was listed as 26 years old, 6 ft. 2 1/2 in., dark complexion, yellow eyes, and black hair.

My GG Grandfather, Cpl. Willam Seward Raulston was wounded in the Right Shoulder in the battle of Resaca, GA on 05/14/1864 with Sherman's march through GA (promoted to Cpl on 06/20/1864). He continued on to Savannah and back and was discharged at the end of the war in Nashville, TN.
