Company Unknown
Horatio Gates Sickel - General
HG Sickel was a Captain of the Pennsylvania Grays when the Civil War broke out. He took command of the 32nd Penn Inf at the beginning of the War and after it was mustered out in 1864 he assumed command of the 198th Penn Inf. In October of 1864 he was promoted to Brev. Brig. General and in March 1865 to Major General. General Sickel was wounded several times during the War, having his horse shot out from under him on at least two occasions. After having been carried from the battlefield at Quarker Road, VA he refused treatment of his wounds until the men under his command had been seen to.

Units under his command took part in all the major compaigns of the Army of the Potomac during the War, with the exception of Gettysburg. During that battle he commanded the Pennsylvania Division in the defense of Washington DC.
