John Williams Patterson - Colonel
|
Col. John Williams Patterson was wounded at Fair Oaks, Capured at Salem Church and killed at the Battle of the Wilderness and the corner of Brock and Orange Plank Road on May 5th, 1864. At Fair Oaks he was shot through the Left Chest and expected to die and after being captured at Salem Church he was imprisoned at Libby Prison.

William Henry Hickenbotham - Private

William H. Hickenbotham (listed as Hickenbothen on the Company 'I' roster for the 102nd) was my Great-Great Grandfather. He enlisted on 16 August 1861 and mustered out on 3 September 1864. An ambulance driver for the 102nd, fought at all the major battles during the civil war including Gettysburg and later received a pension for his injuries sustained during his service.
