Patrick J. Aylmer - 1st Sergeant   
b. September 23, 1833 in Co. Wicklow, Ireland; emigrated to the United States via Liverpool, England, in August, 1852. Officially cited for gallantry by the colonel commanding his regiment at the Battle of Fort Fisher, N.C., on January 15th, 1865. Wounded at the Battle of Cold Harbor, Va., on June 1st, 1864 (gun shot wound to the face); also wounded and buried alive in the magazine explosion at Fort Fisher on January 16th, 1865. d. June 30, 1911 in Troy, N.Y. Buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy, N.Y.
