John Sullivan - Captain   
John Sullivan was the son of Francis and Ann Sullivan of Belturbet, County Cavan, Ireland. He was born c. 1837 and emigrated to Albany, N.Y., at the age of 19. He joined New York's 63rd Regiment Volunteers in 1861, was appointed a first lieutenant of Co. K. He fought at Antietam and Fredericksburg, where he died of his wounds on Dec. 15, 1862. He was not married. His parents were still alive at the time of his death as was his sister Elizabeth Sullivan Crummey, who lived in Albany with her husband Michael Crummey.
