Mustered in Company B, 12th Infantry Regiment New Jersey on 4 September 1862.
Promoted to Corporal on 28 January 1864.
Wounded at Petersburg, VA.
Died from wounds on 28 March 1865 at Washington, DC.
Buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

14 Oct 1864 - Promoted to Full Sergeant
4 Jun 1864 - Mustered Out at Munson's Hill, Virginia

Joined in early 1864 and survived the rest of the war.

Younger brother of Edward. William Henry Harrison Snellbaker, known as Harry, was stuck in the left thigh by a ball that passed entirely through during the charge at the North Anna River. Despite the wound Harry did not lose his leg. He was subsequently transfered to the Veteran's Reserve Corp and was discharged at the close of the war.

He was wounded in the arm by a gunshot wound at Chancellorsville, VA, on May 8, 1863 and admitted to St. Aloysius General Hospital in Washington, DC
