George Arthur Thomas Shirley - Sergeant   
George Arthur Thomas Shirley of Clarks Fork, MO was a Baptist, Democrat, and slave owner, (1860 census Pisgah Post Office)

He married Cornelia Bear on October 26 1853, in 1860 he was living with his brothers-in-law John and Wes who enlisted in the Confederate Cavalry. There are references to him as being a sergeant in the 1st MO Volunteer Infantry Co. F. He was brevetted to the rank of Lieutenant. At Vicksburg his unit was consolidated with the 6th Infantry and was at the Stockade Redan, site of the heaviest fighting before the siege

Charles Edward St. Clair - Private   
Mr. St. Clair was my Great Grandfather on my mother's side. He was captured at the Battle of Fort Blakeley (Mobile) on Apr. 9, 1865 and was imprisoned on Ship Island off the coast of Mississippi. He died in 1923 and is buried in the Blue Springs (Missouri) Cemetery.

Pryor Lee Rice - Private   
A native of Jackson County, Mo., he enlisted in Confederate (State) service just in time to participate in the Battle of Lexington, Mo. in September of 1861. He went on to be present for the actions at Pea Ridge/Elkhorn Tavern (March 1862), Iuka, Miss. (September 1862) and Corinth, Miss (October 3, 1862) where he was seriously wounded. He died at Iuka at the end of November.
