Edwin Cunningham - Private
Edwin Cunningham served in the Civil War (Union): Company B, 14th Regiment, Missouri Cavalry. He enlisted on October 8, 1864 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was inducted as Private, and promoted to Corporal on September 10, 1865. He mustered out on November 17, 1865. Civil War Pension shows Edwin was an invalid in 1889, and she was a widow by Feb. 14, 1893. Edwin had blue eyes, dark hair and a fair complexion. He was 6 feet tall. Edwin was denied a pension since there was no evidence his chronic diarreah and piles began when he was in the military. He was unable to work for at least 2 or 3 years before he died. Edwin refused to see a doctor about his condition until shortly before he died.
