Given the rank of Corporal upon enlistment, and rose to the rank of 1st Sergeant. Also served in Co G. He was my great grandfather. He is buried in Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, Le Flore Co., OK.
In March of 1864, he was assigned to round up deserters. Eight days later, he was given 24 days leave.
After the surrender on May 4, 1865, he was taken prisoner of war with his unit. He was paroled in Mobile, AL, on 22 May 1865.
