Nelson David Crockett - Private
|
This is the older brother of my great grandfather Henry C Crockett who served in the 16th Maine (see my other entry). There were three brothers who fought for the Union. The second brother was David S Crockett (see 5th Maine infantry). All of these soldiers are descendants of the original Thomas Crocket of Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England (1606-1678) who came to Maine in 1631.
