William was from RI and joined the 21st Mass. I am not sure what company he was under.

In the Summer of 1861 Myron Stowell was preparing to enter college in the coming Autumn when the call for 200,000 additional troops went out. He answered the call by going to Greenfield, there to volunteer in the 21st Regiment, Massachusetts, then encamped at Worcester. After serving more than two years he re-enlisted in December, 1863.

Stowell was assigned to assist the surgeon with the care of the sick and injured. During times of battle he was tasked to go out onto the battle field and help carry off the wounded and dying, even during the fiercest fighting. About 5 o'clock in the morning of May 18, 1864, he was at his assigned place of duty near the Spotsylvania Courthouse, when a masked battery opened an enfilading fire on the regiment. Myron was hit by a ball and died. He was buried in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

He was wounded across the abdomen by a musket ball at the battle of Newbern.

He enlisted in Company B, 21st Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment and was mustered in as a Sergeant on August 5, 1861. He transferred on September 16, 1863 to the Veteran Reserve Corps and was mustered out of Company F, 3rd V.R.C., July 16, 1864, as a Private.

“Return Home of wounded soldiers. – Eight of the soldiers of the twenty-first and twenty-fifth Massachusetts regiments, belonging to Worcester and vicinity, who were wounded at the battle of Newbern returned home by express train from New York, last week. The names of those belonging to the twenty-first regiment, were – Corporal Albert Patterson of Worcester, Co. C; S.S. Haywood of Royalston, Co. A; Samuel E. Goodenow of Sterling, and Patrick J. Dixon of Clinton, Co. B. Those belonging to the twenty-fifth, were, - James Gunningle, John Masterson, Morris Doran, and Michael McMahon of Worcester, Co. E. They were accompanied home by several of their comrades, as nurses.”

Henry O. Nelson, 57, died at the hospital in Springfield Sunday, the 3d, after a long illness. Mr. Nelson has been ailing for over a year, but his condition did not become serious until within a few weeks. By his death the town loses an honorable, upright citizen. He was born in Brimfield, but had spent the greater part of his life in this town, being employed in the hat shop for years. He was a quiet, unassuming man, loyal to his friends and family. Sincere regret is felt by all who knew his worth for his loss. Mr. Nelson was a veteran of the late civil war. He joined the army July 19, 1861, at Worcester as a private in Co. D, 21st Mass. Vols., and was discharged from service September 20, 1862, on account of disability. Mr. Nelson participated in the battles of Roanoke Island and Newberne. He leaves a widow and one daughter, Mrs. A. H. Orcutt, of North Main street. The funeral was held from the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, Rev. N..M. Pratt officiating. The bearers were members of Marcus Keep Grand Army post, of which he was a member, and were George W. Seymour, William A. Charles, Henry E. Bubgee, Amos Anderson, Charles Abbott and Moses Wilcox. The burial was in the No. 1 cemetery.

Deceased was a veteran in the Civil War, Company G, 21st Massachusetts regiment, V.M. in the 9th army corps, Burnside's expedition.'

Boston, Sept. 8. - The funeral of Capt. Harrison Aldrich of Somerville, who died Sunday as a result of Injuries received when his horse ran away, was held this morning at the Baptist Church in South Newfane.
Capt. Aldrich was born In Williamsville, Vt., September I8, 1840. He enlisted in Company K, 21st regiment, Massachusetts volunteers, serving as private, sergeant, lieutenant and captain, participating in the battles of Roanoke Island, Newbern, second Bull Run, Chantilly, Antietam and Fredericksburg. He was wounded in the battle of Newbern.
In 1866 he entered the produce business in Boston. He served in the common council of Somerville in 1884 and 1885, and on the board of aldermen in 1886 and 1887. He was the first captain of the Somerville light infantry after its reorganization in 1886. He was a member of the Soley Lodge, F.& A.M.; Somerville Chapter, R.A.M.; Post 139, G.A.R.; Loyal Legion, Boston Chamber of Commerce and Boston Fruit and Produce Exchange.
Capt. Aldrich is survived by his widow, Mrs. Helen L. Aldrich, and one daughter, Mrs. William T. Dole.
