William was born in 1833 in Toomsboro, Wilkinson County, Georgia. and moved to Louisiana in 1860. He has 2 cards and 1 document in his archival files. Co B 11th Battalion Infantry [ Shelby's]. He enlisted 6 May 1862 at Natchitoches, La. for 3 years or the war. ON 22 Aug 1862 he is paid his $50 bonus. One source refers this Battalion as the Yellow Jacket Battalion which was organized in the summer of 1862. It was later absorbed into the Consolidated Crescent Regiment. William contracted Measels and died in the hospital at Delhi, Richland Parish La. on 17 Oct 1862.

aka Joseph Antoine 'Valliere' Dauterive, 2nd Lt. Company D, 10th Infantry Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, Louisiana, CSA. My Great Great Grandfather. His cousin Bernard D. Dauterive was Captain of Co. D, Three of his wife's cousins were also members of Co. D. They were D.(Desire) Gonsoulin, Eusebe Gonsoulin, and Luzincourt Gonsoulin.

My ancestor was my great grandfather. He was from Youngsville ,La. He survived the war ,moved to Abbeville,LA. Opened a dry goods store and small plantation ,was known locally as 'BB'.He married Euphemie LaChaussee ,they had two boys and three girls . One of the girls is my grandmother. He is buried in the cemetery behind St Mary Magdalen RC church in Abbeville.

James was born 18 Oct. 1827 in Autauga County, Alabama. He enlisted at Mansfield, De Soto Parish, La on 26 Apr. 1862. [Yellow Jacket's] as 5th Sgt, Capt. J.J. Garbrough's Co. Monton's Brigade, Shelby's Battalion. He served until his discharge by Battalion Surgeon at Camp Edwards for Asthma and bad knees. He did not see combat and was discharged before the Battalions consolidation with the Crescent Regiment. He died 8 July 1899 and is buried in Grand Crane Cem. Grand Cane, De Soto Parish, La.
