Finis Ewing Simmons - Private |
Finis was a resident of Obion county Tennessee before moving to Izard co. Ark. about 1857. He went back during the war and enlisted at age 19. No service records have been found thus far but Finis applied for and received a Confederate Soldier's Pension in Arkansas which gave his service as the spring of 1863 to the spring of 1865 in Co. B 1st Kentucky Cavalry. Subsequent research makes it highly likely that this was the 1st Kentucky and Tennessee Cav. which was later designated Faulkner's 12th. Ky Cav. Finis remained in Obion co. for a few years after the war then moved back to Izard co. Ark. where he lived until 1915
