George W. Kearns - Private
George W. Kearns 4/18/1847 - 8/6/1916. At the age of 15, George joined Co. C, 15th Indiana Regiment, Indiana Volunteers. He was discharged at Indianapolis, Indiana on Feb. 25, 1864. George returned home to Kahoka, MO and there lived out the rest of his life. Buried at Kahoka Cemetery, Kahoka, Clark County, Missouri.

George Washington Bennett - Sergeant
This is my great-great grandfather; he enlisted in the service of his country, June 7, 1861, in Company F, Fifteenth Ind. Vols., and served faithfully until June 25, 1864, having been promoted to the rank of sergeant. He was severely wounded in the heat at the battle of Missionary Ridge, Nov. 25, 1863, from which wound he never fully recovered. He did however return home to live until his death in 1909 in Greene county Indiana.

Frank White - Major
My wife, Karen's, great-great grandfather was Major Frank White, of the 15th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment. He was the field commander of the 15th Indiana during their heroic assault on Missionary Ridge, under Wagner's Brigade. He was later transferred to the 17th Indiana Mounted Infantry Regiment, as a Lieutant Colonel. He was in Wilder's Brigade, and personally accepted the surrender of Macon, Georgia in April 1865. He was brevitted Brigidier General soon afterwards, for his service to his country.
