Assigned to the 22nd Indiana Artillery and promoted to senior Lieutenant after partially recovering from wounds while with the 3rd Ind Arty at the battle of Lone Jack, Missouri; resigned 29 Mar 1863 because of deteriorating conditions of wounds.
