Fredrich was born March 22, 1843 in Germany. He was orphaned in Chicago, Illinois before the 1950 Census. He joined the Union on October 22, 1861 and was mustered out on December 31, 1864. After the war he married Julianna Schick and they moved west, first to Custer County Colorado, and finally to Aztec, New Mexico. He is buried next to his wife in the Aztec Cemetery in Aztec, New Mexico. I have a picture of him in his uniform that I will gladly share.
