Thomas was my great great grandfather. After his brother, Hiram was killed by bushwackers, Thomas enlisted to take Hiram's place. After the war, Thomas moved to Texas then Oklahoma.

james road with the famous csa cavalry leader joseph wheeler going clear to georgia and tne carolinas to oppose sherman. james never surrendered or was paroled. he simply left for home. james couldn't adjust to civilian life and apparently got into a fight where he may have killed a man. he went to kansas where he became a cowboy and spent the rest of his life.

Confederate States Army enlistee, WILEY T. WILLIS joined ADAMS ARKANSAS INFANTRY on June 30, 1861. He was one of about 75 men in his regiment who rallied around the colors and fought at the BATTLE OF PRAIRIE GROVE after the rest either deserted or surrendered.

After the BATTLE OF PRAIRIE GROVE, he reenlisted in the THIRD ARKANSAS CAVALRY and reported sick from July 1862-April 1863.

In 1863 he transferred to the 27th ARKANSAS INFANTRY and fought in the Battle of Little Rock, Battle of Pleasant Hill and Battle of Jenkins Ferry.

His regiment surrendered on May 26, 1865.

I don't know much about him, other than he was born in fulton county, georgia...approximately 1832 died in pope county arkansas in 1908. Married Martha M. Mullins who filed for widow pension.

Born 10 June 1844, in Perry Co., Ark. Enlisted 7 June 1861 in Little Rock, Ark. Wounded in the shoulder at the Battle of Corinth, Miss. on 4 or 5 October 1862. Died in hospital at Iuka, Miss. later that month.

Joseph was in Co. E and I, I have also heard one book that has him listed as a 1st. Leitenant. Can anyone verify that for me.

Henry Bassett is my 3rd great grandmother's brother's son. He was a private in the 3rd Arkansas Confederate Calvary, Company F. He died in May of 1863.
