This is my Great Grandfather. He enlisted from Blount County Alabama as a Private with several brothers and our family history indicates he eventually became a brevet Captain. He had a wild tusk-like tooth that extended up into his walrus mustache that he wore to attempt to cover it.
State Archives tell that the 29th Alabama began with 1100 men with only 90 men left to muster out when the unit surrendered in North Carolina. I was amazed to see my maternal Great Great Grandfather George Washington Isbell on this list as having been in Company E of the 29th Alabama!

Green Alexander Bush
Green Alexander Bush was my Great Grandfather. He was born 18 November, 1849 in Stewart County, Georgia. The 1860 U. S. Alabama Federal Census, shows he was living with his parents, Prescott Bush, Jr and Charlotte Lamb Bush, in Rural Hill, Conecuh County, Alabama; and was 10 years old. According to Old Family Bible, Pension Application, and other Personal Family Records, he enlisted in the Confederate Alabama 29th Infantry, Company I, as a Private, under the Command of Colonel Campbell and Captain Sauls, soon after his 14th birthday. He served until his Unit surrendered at Mobile, Alabama; and was then detailed/transferred to work in the Evergreen, Alabama Commissary for about 5 months until the Official End of the Civil War in 1865.
Following the end of the Civil War in 1865, Green Alexander Bush married Charlotte Lamb from Theadville, Clarke County, Mississippi on 22 December, 1870; and they moved to Laurel, Jones County, Mississippi. They purchased a General Mercantile Store in Laurel; and Green Alexander served as City of Laurel Alderman for several years before eventually moving to Lucedale, George County, Mississippi in January, 1912. They remained residing in the Town of Lucedale, until 1918, when they purchased a plot of Farm land just outside of Town. They were both buried in The Union Cemetery, now known as the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in George County, Mississippi.
