Farmed 160 acres at Lac qui Parle County. Died at Perry, Minnesota, 31 July 1884. Buried at Bellingham, Mn. St Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Served with the 39th Regiment of Wisconsin from June 1864 to Sept. 1864.

Charles Seitz - Private
4th Great Uncle - Private, Company F, 39th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Born on January 29, 1843 in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, he was drafted into Company F of the 39th Wisconsin on May 14, 1864 at the age of 21 while residing in Racine, Wisconsin. Mustered In on June 3, 1864. The 'Hundred Days Men' were ordered to Memphis, Tennessee for garrison duty. The 39th Wisconsin was present when Nathan Bedford Forrest's Confederates attacked the city on August 21, 1864, and the regiment suffered 3 killed and a number of wounded and captured in the engagement. Mustered Out on September 22, 1864 at expiration of term of service. Died in 1899 in Oak Creek, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Brother of Union soldiers Ferdinand Seitz, 18th Wisconsin, Joseph Seitz, 26th Wisconsin, and Fidel Seitz, 1st Nebraska.
