Company D
Austin, (cook) Holland
- Other
Austin adopted the Holland name after emancipation. His surname 'Holland' is not shown on his NARA records. His first name is shown only and he is listed as a COOK before his release in 1865. It is believed that he was also the body servant to John T Loyd of Upshur County, Texas who served in the 18TH Texas Infantry/Company H (prior to John's death in 1862).

I would like to talk to Chris Loyd about this.
