Great great grandfather.Captured at Fort Donelson on the 16th Feb,1862 and was received at Camp Chase 1 Mar, 1862 then transferred to Johnson Island 1 May,1862. He was sent to Vicksburg, MS 1 Sept,1862.

My 3x great grandfather was Andrew Dickey, also listed sometimes as Dicky. He left family in Indiana and Ohio and joined the 10th Tennessee Infantry. He was part of both company D and company I. I’m not sure which was his initial enlistment company. His record states joined the 4th consolidated regiment Tennessee infantry about April 9, 1866. I’d appreciate any information to further my research.

Thomas was captured at Fort Donelson and sent to Camp Douglas in Illinois. The 23rd Illinois made him an offer he couldn't refuse, so he enlisted and served in the 23rd for the duration of the war.
