I'm not SURE about this listing. An L.W. Hutton is on NPS listing as sergeant Co. A, 36th TN Infantry. This unit was disbanded June 30, 1862. Another NPS listing shows L.W. Hutton with the 3rd Confederate Engineer Troops. More research or your help is needed. Lovell Woldridge Hutton born 24 Feb 1832 in Williamson County, TN d. 18 Sep 1896 Dickson Co., TN, buried with wife Tabitha Goodwin Dill and family in Hutton cemetery near White Bluff. L.W. is my Grandson's ancestor.

GGgrandpa Johnson enlisted in 1861. In 1862, while on picket duty in the Cumberland Gap area his gun burst and the barrel of the gun went through his left wrist. He was given a medical discharge. He was conscripted in 1863 but again given a medical discharge. He received an $8.33 per month pension but lost it when a neighbor accused him of being a ''bushwacher of the south.'' He started a fevorish letter writing campaign with medical evidence and charcter witness documentation that spanned almost 20 years in order to get his pension back. His pension was finally returned to him.
