Ebenezer Skellie was wounded in the leg at the Battle of New Market Heights, Chapins (Chaffins) Farm September 29, 1864 causing amputation to a leg. Awarded Medal of Honor for the action at Ft. Gilmer that day.

Volunteer from Cohocton, Steuben County. Joined Sept. 1864.
Fought at Fort Fisher, NC. Received an injury to arm, an injury to left eye. Contracted typhoid fever, was hospitalized, sent back to regiment to be discharged with company on June 13, 1865 in Raleigh, NC. Did farm work after war in Cohocton, Bristol (Ontario Co.) and East Bloomfield, NY. Died in 1924.

Heinrich Loesch
- Private
On August 29, 1862, Heinrich enlisted in the 112th New York Volunteer Infantry, Co. I. Known as the Chautauqua Regiment, the 112th saw heavy combat in Virginia and the Carolinas from 1862 to 1865.

He was admitted to the hospital for 'illness' December 20, 1864 at Bermuda Hundred VA. He died less than 2 months later, while being escorted home to New York by his brother, Michael Loesch.
