Reuben was 32, married and a clerk in East Boston when he enlisted Sept. 9, 1862. He was discharged on Feb. 24, 1863 after suffering an injury the result of being thrown off an artillery limber during training at Camp Berry just outside Baltimore, Md. He returned home to Massachusetts. He died in 1907 in Massachusetts.
