Lewis Goben was my great, great grandfather's older brother. He fought with the 22nd throughout most ot their engagements and was captured on October 19, 1864 at Cedar Creek, VA and held at the Confederate's Libby and Salisbury prisons. He was paroled on March 1, 1865 and sent to Benson Barracks, MO. He died in 1907 at Milan, IL.
