IN, to Elizabeth KIRKENDALL, b. 6 Nov 1851, Michigantown, Clinton, IN.; d. 26 Mar 1940, Sublette, Haskell Co., KS. Son of Andrew Jackson Pennington and Mary ''Polly'' Avery.

He enlisted 11 May 1861 in Indianapolis in the infantry. He fought at Harper Valley, W.VA, and Sharpsburg, VA. Regiment disbanded in May 1862. He then enlisted in the 8th Regiment of the Indiana Cav., and was assigned to E Co. He was involved in many battles including the 'The Battle for Atlanta','The March to the Sea',and the 'Carolina' campaigns. He mustered out July 20, 1865.

Enlisted in Indianapolis in 1861 and died April 30th 1862. No information on his birth records or parents can be found.

Died Jan 1896, Bartholomew Co, IN. Buried in Sand Creek Quaker Cem, Bartholomew Co, IN.
