Austin Bicknell - Private
Austin enlisted in 1861, served as a private travel through Mississippi and Arkansas. He was with Grant at Vicksburg: was captured shortly after the fall of Vicksburg and held prisoner for six months in Louisiana and Texas; made three attempts to escape and the last time was successful in getting back to his command. Austin was mustered out in New Orleans.

I had 2 great, great uncles who served in the 26th Indiana Infantry Regiment, Company A: Abner C. Wait and Joseph H. Wait. Joseph served with the Regiment throughout the Civl War from August 30, 1861 to January 15, 1866, initially as 1st Sergeant and then as 1st Lieutenant as of December 18, 1864. Abner C. Wait serve in the same Regiment and Company as a private from December 1, 1861 until March 12, 1864, when he was discharged for medical reasons.

Benjamin Snow Jumper - Private
My GG Grand Uncle
Benjamin Snow Jumper served in the Civil War under his father, Alden Haden Jumper. While delivering mail, he and his companion were accosted by rebels and Benjamin was shot in the knee. The doctors recommended amputation, but Benjamin refused and walked with a severe limp thereafter. After the war, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he would later die of gangrene and complications resulting from the bullet in his knee.

Fought at the battle of Prarie Grove, Ark. Dec.7,1862, Siege of Vicksburg, Captured at Morganza,La. during the battle of Stirlings Plantation on Sept.29, 1863. P.O.W. at Camp Ford, Confederate Prison in Tyler ,Texas. 2nd Enlistment with the 146 Indiana Infantry Company G. recieved Sergeants rank in March of 1865. Mustered out in September of 1865. 1st wife: Hester Ann Neal of Rising Sun, Indiana. Children: Priscilla Ann. John Neal. Montraville G., and Mabel E. 2nd Wife: Florence G. True, one child: Richard Marion. Isaac D. Robbins was a member of the G.A.R. Col.Platter Post #82 out of Aurora, Indiana
