Company B
Issac J. Pugh - Private
Issac J. Pugh was my great-grandfather. He was wounded at the Battle of Perryville; captured near Liberty, Tenn. June 7, 1863; returned to his unit July 1864. After the war he was grain dealer in Toledo, Illinois; buried there upon death in 1924. As a young boy growing up in Chicago (1941-49) I would play with his Spencer rifle that my mother had been given. When we moved to Arizona she gave it to her brother. Oh, how I wish she had kept that rifle!
A few years ago I visited the spot where he was wounded at Perryville and then Liberty, Tennessee where he was captured.

John Enos French signed up for a short tour with a lot of other folks from Hutton, including his father, Samuel S. French. When the company disbanded, he transferred to the 68th Illinois Infantry.
