caleb was wounded and captured at Getteysburg. He was a part of a prisoner swap at David's island in new york harbor. He returned to the 59th and was Appomaddix at the surrender. He returned to Marion County Georgia. After my grandfather was born, I have lost all traces of Caleb.

private June 20, 1862 . Roll for February 1865, last on file, shows him in Columbus, Ga. hospital. Paroled there April 1865 . (Born in S. C. in 1820.) { } [ Microfilm number M226 roll 55, listed as W.Sizemore ] Service further documented in Pension records, Marion County GA, and widow's pension for wife, Mary Askew Sizemore. In an affidavit dated 24-Jun-1908, three witnesses attest that Mary Sizemore is the widow of Wiley Sizemore who died on 18-Feb-1908. Her widow's affidavit dated 10-May-1908 and application dated 13-Mar-1908 confirms the same date of death for Wiley. Wiley Sizemore applied for the Indigent Soldier's Pension each year from 1897 through 1907. Death date and place unknown for Mary. It's believed Wiley and Mary Sizemore are buried in unmarked grave at Juniper Cemetery, Talbot County, GA.[source: A History of Marion County, Georgia -- Motherland of Many by Rena S.
