Company C
Zachariah T Williams - Private
Also known as 'Zacky T', he was from Madison Co. (Danielsville) and started with Randolf Rangers which became the 24th Cav Battalion until it got combined into the 7th Ga Cav on Feb 13, 1864.

My Dad says 'Grampa Zachy walked back from Petersburg with some of the horses & mules just before the rest left to cover R.E.Lee's withdrawal from Richmond' Notes say he had lost his hearing in August 1864, due to a cannon shell exploding only 6ft away, at Ream's Station.

Lots of details of the Regiment in a small book called 'The Gallant Little 7th' by John W. Latty, Broadfoot Publishing, Wilmington NC ; he is on page 128 and something about 'Randolf Rangers' is on page 31
