Conrad Hofacker was captured at Chancellorsville. There is another entry for him misfiled under the 3rd Alabama (USA). He had a brother, Killian, a teamster in the 81st Pennsylvania. There was a third brother George who did not survive the war. I would love to get in touch with anyone who has information on any of the three brothers.

William was originally from Watertown, the son of Linus and Minerva (Nichols) Scott. Prior to enlisting, William was a farm laborer on the farm of Hugh Carley in Orange, Connecticut. He is listed on his enlistment papers as being from Milford, Connecticut. He was killed in battle on July 2, 1863 at Gettysburg. His name is listed on the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery in Watertown, Connecticut, but no record of his burial there exists. He is not listed as being buried in Gettysburg.
