Ira A. Washburn - Private
Ira A. Washburn was born New York, a Grandson of two Revolutionary War Vets, abt 1837. His parents, Liba & Sarah Bradish WASHBURN took him along with his sister,
Nellie Ellen and brother Albert L. to the Gold Rush of California. Prior to Ira's enlistment he lived in Marysville, CA. Ira Washburn, Enlisted in Company L, 1st Cavalry Regiment California on 25 February 1864. Mustered out Company L, 1st Cavalry Regiment California on 28 June 1866 in Presidio, San Francisco, CA. Ira's brother was in the 2nd California Cavalry, co. G. Nothing is known of Ira after 1866, his Mother died French Corral, CA 1864, all of Ira's family moved on to Nevada, then eventually on to north of Fort Spokane, Washington Territory, settling in Stevens co.
