Enlistment Date: 19 September 1864 - Mustered out Company G, 2nd Cavalry Regiment California on 01 February 1866 in Camp Union, California. Albert L. Washburn was born in New York, a grandson of two Revolutionary War Soldiers. When just a child he went with his family to the Gold Rush of California. He joined the Calvary, while living near Marysville, California, along with his brother, Ira A. Washburn. Upon his discharge from the Calvary, Albert moved with his Father to Humbolt County, Nevada, in the late 1870's, Albert moved to Washington Territory, finding a place for the rest of his family to settle, north of Fort Spokane, in what is now Stevens County, Washington State. Albert married Nettie Thompson, living the rest of his life near Fruitland, Washington, he is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, near Hunters, Washington. Albert Washburn left no children, only a lasting record of his pioneer spirit in the annuals of Stevens county, Washington History.
